Riserva is special because the prugnolo gentile stays on the vine just a little longer, long enough to feel the change in the air and to take in the last of the summer sun and the first breath of autumn. Riserva doesn't reveal itself all at once. The months in wood soften its edges, and create layers. There is a fullness that doesn’t rush forward.
